Background: |
Saidpur (Syedpur) is a city of Nilphamari district in Rangpur Division of Bangladesh . The city becomes a very important communication hub for adjoining major district headquarters. Saidpur Airport is one of the domestic airports in Bangladesh. The Saidpur Railway Workshop, established in 1870, is the largest railway workshop in Bangladesh and was the major railway workshop for Assam-Bengal railway. Medical service in the Divisional Railway Hospital at Saidpur under West Zone of Bangladesh Railway is on the verge of closure due to shortage of doctors, nurses and other staff, and also unavailability of important equipment for diagnosing diseases. Despite being business Centre there is no modern Medical College Hospital in Saidpur. But the demand for high quality medical education are very high. There is also scarcity of private land in town area. So that the needs of the demanding medical facilities and education Bangladesh Railway planned for establish a hospital and college in Saidpur. There are sufficient unused land adjacent to the hospital. The utilization of this unused land recommended by a committee formed by Bangladesh Railway for establishing a medical college under ppp. But, Bangladesh Railway has spare-able open land in the Saidpur town. Hence, the Project will attract numerous of Private entrepreneurs.

Project Scope: |
- Construction of medical College of seat capacity 50.
- Balancing, Modernization, Rehabilitation and Expansion (BMRE) of existing Railway Hospital from 82 beds to 250 beds like Apollo, United and Square Hospital.
- Enhancement of the Medical facility to the Railway employee & general peoples of the country.
