Background:
BSCIC TIED is established at Hamayetpur, Savar in a 200 acres of land to relocate the tanneries from Hazaribagh, Dhaka, The industrial estate hosts 162 tanneries with all necessary infrastructures for industrialization including two administrative buildings, fire station, police camp, 30 feet wide 3283 feet long entry road, 49515 sqm internal road, 1,2 km drainage system with 41 culverts, 6500 feet water supply line, 1,5 km 60 MVA electricity distribution system, 22 80 million liter per day water treatment plant, gas distribution network, 1 Lac gallon water reservoir for fire fighting, 02 shaded dumping station and 01 open dumping yard, 442 street lights, 194 CC Camera, CETP with administrative building, 03 Effluent Pumping Stations, 03 Chrome Recovery Unitw, Dewatering House, laboratory. The CETP is established in 17 acres of land to treat the tannery effluent, The TIED project was completed in June 2021 and since then Dhaka Tannery Industrial Estate Wastage Treatment Plant Company Limited (DTIEWTPCL) is managing CETP operation.
Objective:
The Standardize the tannery effluent treatment and solid waste disposal as per ECR 2023
